About the Cityscapes

I sometimes still grieve the end of my cityscape period. That nearly twenty-year stretch in San Francisco was full and rich and as inspiring as anything ever could be. There ought to be a law against having that much fun! I painted thousands of cityscapes, and sold them all. (Please don't ask, I'm not doing any more.)

I know... if I ever want to be famous, then the city is the place to be. Now and then I take a wistful look back and think, ''It coulda happened.'' More and more though, I know that my personal truth is... I just want to be a better painter. Which is what I'm working on.
